Sean McCann

Saves for Gavin Fundraiser

In 2010, Sean created his own fundraiser through COTA (Childrens Organ Transplant Association) to help raise funds for 2 year old Gavin Scimeca. Gavin Scimeca was born with a rare genetic kidney disorder, that would require a life saving kidney transplant by the age of 5. Soon after his birth, fund raising efforts began to help the family with current and future medical costs. Sean McCann, a senior at Park Ridge High School and a goalkeeper for the varsity soccer team, stepped in to assist in the fund raising, raising funds for each save he made during his 2010 season. After the season Sean set a career high 170 saves, 9th in the State, to complete his fundraising efforts at $30,000.
